Full Moon Water

Creating Full Moon Water for Your New Moon Ritual
Â
As we bask in the luminous energy of the Gemini Full Moon, it’s the perfect time to gather the magic of the moment and prepare it for the upcoming New Moon cleansing spray we will be doing for the December 30th New Moon.  Â
Full Moon Water is a beautiful way to capture the vibrant, clearing, and illuminating energy of the Full Moon, and it can be used for cleansing, manifestation, or as a ritual tool to support your intentions in the coming month. I will go into a more detailed video and write up on the power and uses of lunar-charged water (which will absolutely blow your mind!) But for now, just know it is worth doing and adds a very real oomph to anything you add it to.Â
Here’s how to make your own Full Moon Water:Â
What You’ll Need:
- A glass jar or bottle
- Fresh, clean water (spring or filtered is best)
- A small crystal (optional, but I love using clear quartz to help retain the frequency you are capturing in the water)
- A quiet, safe place to set your water
Â
Steps to Make Full Moon Water:
Â
- Set Your Space: Find a spot where the moonlight can reach your water—either outside, on your porch, or even on a windowsill. The key here is to let the energy of the Full Moon infuse the water. Some people believe that the water needs to be in direct line of sight of the moon, however, from the brilliant work Veda Austin has been doing, she has shown that the lunar imprint is just as potent inside on the counter as it is in direct line of the moon. Â
- Optional: Add a Crystal: If you’re working with crystals, you can place a small one in the jar with your water. I use clear quartz which is great for storing and harmonizing the captured energy. Just be sure that whatever crystal you choose is safe to submerge in water and free of heavy metals.
- Cleanse Your Space: Take a few deep breaths and center yourself. If you’d like, you can burn some sage or palo santo to cleanse the area where you’ll be placing your water. This helps to clear any stagnant or heavy energy and prepares the space. Â
- Set Your Intention: Before placing the water in your chosen spot, take a moment to set your intention for the water. You can hold the jar in your hands, close your eyes, and breathe deeply, feeling the energy of the Full Moon infuse your intention. Â
- Timing: I let the water sit overnight to absorb as much of the Full Moon goodness as it can. We are really saturated in the full moon’s pull the day before, day of and day after, so there is some flexibility here, but the most potent would of course be on the day/evening of the Full Moon.
- Close the Ritual: When the Full Moon has passed or when you feel ready, hold your jar in your hands and express gratitude for the moon’s energy and the intention you’ve set. You can also affirm your intention aloud or silently to seal the energy of the water.
Using Your Full Moon Water for Your New Moon Ritual:
Now, the magic has been captured in your Full Moon Water, and it’s ready to support you in your upcoming New Moon ritual on December 30th. Use it to cleanse your space, anoint your body or your crystals, or drink a small amount with the intention of grounding your energy as you prepare to set new intentions for the coming month.
Â
The beauty of Full Moon Water is that it’s a living, potent reminder of the cycles of growth and renewal. Each time you use it, you can reconnect with the energy of the Full Moon and harness its transformative power.
Â
I hope you enjoy making and using your Full Moon Water. Trust that it will hold the wisdom, insight, and energy you need to step into the next phase of your journey with clarity and purpose.
